Joe the teacher...
I have taught hundreds of students in a variety of subjects. Currently I teach private guitar lessons and am employed at Winthrop University as an adjunct professor. I teach Music Technology, Applied Guitar, and Introduction to Web Design. I also teach Beginning Guitar for the ST-Arts program for gifted and talented students. While at Duquesne, I taught Guitar for Music Therapy, Applied Guitar, and Computers for Musicians.
My guitar lessons are tailored to individual students needs and their desired direction. I believe that music is an art and students who wish to pursue the study of music should be allowed to choose their own focus; songwriting, soloing, jazz, rock, etc. No matter the students interest, all lessons will cover basic music theory, fundamentals of guitar technique, basic song writing, and basic improvisation.
